North Devon Surf School

Nick Thorn Surf Coaching is based at Putsborough, North Devon. The surf school is accredited with Surfing England and a Lifeguard training centre.

Nick is a Level 4 Master Surf Coach and can offer surf sessions for beginners, intermediate and advanced surf development. The sessions are fun and safe for all people from 6-80 years of age. We also offer Stand Up Paddle boarding around North Devon including Saunton Sands, Woolacombe, Croyde, Instow, Hele Bay, Combe Martin, Ilfracombe.

Coasteering from the popular beaches of Croyde and Hele bay. Junior lifeguard and accredited lifeguard training and surf coaching qualifications are available
Wide range of surf board and wetsuits surf hire and Stand Up Paddle boarding equipment are available.

Putsborough Beach

Putsborough is one of those hidden gems of the North Devon Beaches. Facing West into the open Atlantic and part of Woolacombe bay, the 3 mile beach offers a wide range of activities, surfing is one of those addictive and passionate sports that we offer at Nick Thorn Surf Coaching. The surf at Putsborough caters for beginners and advanced surfers. With a laid back and enthusiastic, warm welcoming staff, we will offer an experience you will want to come back again and again.

Putsborough have a fantastic cafe right on the beach. There is also accommodation available the Putsborough Sands. Clean toilets and cold showers.
